Snowmobile safety course

I also took one, about 5 years ago. Good refresher for what is taken for granted. My certificate was also good for 10% discount on insurance.

My 1st sled...

Nothing, grass was still wet from the dew. Putting a new set on anyway for the upcoming season.

My 1st sled...

Congratulations....nothing better than getting out there and riding. But why wait for snow? Took mine for a few laps in the grass today, but you're right, nothing like snow. Have fun this winter and ride safe!

Trail riding protection (Tekvest or similar)

I started to wear a SuperSport last year, and probably should have bought one sooner. Luckily haven't had to test it yet. Don't let the price restrict you from purchasing one, in my mind it is like an insurance policy. I was skeptical at first that it would inhibit mobility, but that is not the case...

N. Y. State Registration renewal, a $25 question.

You would have to pay again. In NY your registration stays with your sled for its' life. New sled = new numbers. I think you might be able to get a rebate from DMV though for unused portion of annual registration..but check with them:?
