The dealer did happen to say that the ONLY oil NOT recommended was Amsoil and did happen to reiterate that if the valves get gummed up it could negatively impact fuel mileage...but that much (from 12.5 to 7.5) and so immediately after...

Has anyone experienced a drop in fuel mileage on the 600 XC SP? I started with the first tank at 12.5 - 13, but never got that again. The case cracked on mine. Also waiting for a cover backordered from Polaris. My dealer didn't do me the courtesy as yours did. But my dealer sucks, so I wouldn't have expected it. This is a pretty crappy design by Polaris. I can't believe they didn't test this thing better than this.

XCSP, don't fill your tank full when you transport the sled. That is the only way I have gotten around it. You are right, turning off the fuel doen't matter...it comes out the vent tube.

Hey XCSP, I have a 600 VES, 2002, and it does exactly the same thing as yours. If, when I stop for ANY length of time, I shut the sled off, then restart it, it zooms right off. I will try some of the suggestions here. The boost bottles really helped on my responsiveness of my two 2000 600 XC Deluxes...
