2002 Polaris 600 XC SP Fuel Mileage Sucks

DeepSnow -- Ride 2001 500XCSP, have had same poor mpg's as you (7.5-8). Took it to dealer, this is what he said and did. Polaris's factory acceptable range of air screw adjustment is 1.25 to 1.75 turns out. Factory setting is at 1.5 turns out. He adjusted them in from 1.5 to 1.25, as lean as polaris...

How many miles on your sleds?

Have a 2000 SuperSport 550 fan, just 2600 miles on it, nothing compared to other mileage I seen in this thread, only thing replaced was the hydraulic rear track shock. Water got in it due to bad seal, also replaced carbides. Starts first pull whether sub zero or warmed-up. Changed one set of plugs. ...

MPG 01 500 XCSP ??

Snotcicles--Cleaned valves today, had just under 500 miles on them. They were in dire need of cleaning. One was practically stuck in place. I also use Polaris VES Gray. Thought it would hold up better than 500 miles. Will try Amsoil next year, heard nothing but good about it. Will see if the clean v...

MPG 01 500 XCSP ??

01 500 XCSP mpg's between 7.5 and 9.0 depending how much into throttle. With VES and being a 500 shouldn't it be getting better mpg's? Took it into dealer because of excessive pulls (5 to 9), to start sled once warmed-up. Dealer said that bad gas and water in tank caused problem, he took care of the...

Fuel leaking while trailering-vent

XCSP - Figured out problem...Replace your fuel cap gasket and tighten cap really good after fueling. I noticed when opening fuel cap would cause a vacuum, causing gas to run through vent hose, once replaced gasket and tightened good, alls well.

Fuel leaking while trailering-vent

XCSP..I have same problem w/01 500XCSP, however had some work done to the sled, and since then, noticed fuel leaking out of vent hose when I top the tank off after trailering. Looked at the vent hose, and it was partially pinched, straightened it out and re-ran vent hose same way as my 00 SuperSport...

Polar Exhaust Pipe Help

ostapowich - Info came in handy, Loctite sealer did the trick, smoked a little at first but no more oil on engine. The only type of torque stop I could see was on the clutch side under carb. This rubber stop does have a jam nut stud on it, and it was tight against engine. Will leave that alone. Wher...

Polar Exhaust Pipe Help

I have oil spitting out of exhaust pipe connector back onto the front of the engine. Happens only when accelerating, not at idle. Took muffler off and cleaned connection good, everything looks o.k.. Is there a type of seal missing, do the exhaust pipe springs stretch out and need to be replaced? Som...

Polaris Edge Console ??

Any Polar Bears have this happen to their Edge? The console between gas tank and hood; plastic tabs that connect the console to the steering post frame (one tab on each side of tank under hood) detach or rip away from torque screw. More so, the side with the starter rope. Leaving your console separa...
