You're leaking air. If you don't fix it the sled will lean out & fry the motor! Look for the smallest mistake. Maybe a washer in the wrong place creating a small air gap, a worn gasket, etc.... Also your oil pump should have a bleed screw. Find it & you can be sure to get rid of any air.

My max is about 800 feet. That was on my '97 ZRT800. This year I'm riding an '02 ZR8CCE these things are awesome on water!! I can't wait! 50% of the time the ZRT seemed like it would go forever!
