4" carbides should be fine without studs, in my experience anything more causes the sled to wander or dart more under certain snow/ice conditions if u don't have studs

'98 SRX700 stock expect for 1.5" track vs a 02 XC700 stock. Which one would win a 1/4 mile drag? Top end? I'd think the SRX would win in both but looking for someone with more experience with these 2 sleds........thanks

My '97 XLT Sp beat my old man's '99 ZL500 EFI and I out weighed him by 50lbs. Both stock as can be except plastic skiis on my sled. Didn't smoke him, just a sled length or so in a quarter mile and we raced a few times, so I'm sure an Ultra would have no problem. Of course he got rid of that POS sled...

Have you tried re-jetting at all? Stock they usually set them pretty rich to prevent you from blowing up your engine. On the same chart with the RPM max indized mentioned there should be a graph showing how to jet it for your elvation/temp you ride at. How about the slides/track tightness-I replaced...

kenlacy-are you sure about needing to have insurance on a sled in MN? I have never heard of this before and just looked in the laws/regulations book and it says NOTHING about needing insurance. I've been stopped before and never been asked for proof of insurance. Where did you hear this from?

Makes no difference on performance, same plug basically. The "R" stands for resistor, meaning it won't interfere with any sort of unprotected radio type signal(like if u had that plug in a car and U had an unprotected radio signal, which is very unlikely though).

I'd say no problem, i've seen 440 Sports and Trails go over up to about 40yds or water no problem. Get going about 50 and give it more gas just b4 hitting it and make sure u keep your weight to the back.
