build your own Cat

Well I got it to work and built a 2003 Mountain Cat 570 for myself. What does IM mean? or 1M or whatever that is? I like the fact it is only $5,299 and at 448lbs. it should be good in deep powder. I have two short tracks right now and decided if I am going to have 2 sleds I might as well have one sh...

13.5" track on the Firecat...are they nuts?

First off let me reply to your statement. I can shop at whatever store I choose. Abercrombie is cool and so is Cat so I put them together. I do not drive a Caddy I have a 2000 Mercury Sable 24 valve and a 95 F150 4x4 SC. My old Ford truck is the best ...135,000 and still going strong. I work hard fo...

13.5" track on the Firecat...are they nuts?

Sorry I posted before I was done saying everything I wanted to say... How will the price of the F5 compare to the price of the ZL550? I am a college student and only can budget around $5,000 for a new sled and I don't like buying snowmobiles used. If it is that much better then the ZL as you say for...

9 th fatality yesterday so far in Maine

Last year in the Black Hills my poor Coug got nailed by some yahoo with a race-type sled with all those stickers on the hood going 80MPH around a blind corner. Dang that just about scared me out of the sport. The good news is I was going slow and was able to move over as far as I could without going...

13.5" track on the Firecat...are they nuts?

First off I am sorry I put this on the wrong board. If you know how I can move it I will. I am new here and just trying my best to give some info on the new AC's for 2003. I don't know. Maybe you are right that a 13.5" track width is better then a 15" for trail riding. I still would prefer width ove...

13.5" track on the Firecat...are they nuts?

I am not very impressed with this so called Firecat model...I'm I wrong or in powder or loose snow isn't a narrow track going to effect flotation? 13.5" may work great on the hard packed race track...but in real world situations...it is not always hard pack. The other thing that I think is more...

EFI CATS- Running out of gas?

I bought a new ZL 550 this year and although mine is not EFI the owners manual includes every model and as I was reading it I noticed that Arctic Cat put a warning in there for EFI models that if they are run out of fuel engine damage might occur. Why? I have no idea, but that is what it says in the...

Registration numbers

I am surprised there are still states that require the big boat numbers. Here in South Dakota we just have to put a 2"x3" tag on the hood and its good for 2 years @ $20.00. Too bad you guys can't someway help push legislation for a simular license requirement.

'96 A/C Couger for a 12 yr old?

It is a good price for a great sled...but the power would be a little much for a 12 year old. I have a '98 Cougar DLX and love my Cougar. I had a few different ones over the year but the '98 is my favorite...it actually has a brake!:o) Not that the '96 does not have a brake...just a poor one. Avoid ...
