My brother tells me I can purchase just the ingnition coil for my '01 MXZ 800, without the stator plate and lighting coil. Local parts dealers have told me I have to by the whole assembly. Money is of course an issue, and I don't want to spend more than I have to. What is the truth? Also, what type ...

four stroke oil change

Had the opportunity to test ride Yamaha fourstrokes this weekend, and would very much like to own one. My friend has just told me that he's heard that to have an oil change done at a dealer is $350! His informant also said that he did his own in 7 hours!!! Can this be true? I can not believe it if i...

why do you think the rx1 is slow

The thing people do not think about when talking about the RX1 is power to weight ratio. Yes, it's heavy, but it has the power to move that weigt quickly. When they do shave some lbs. off, look out!

Looking for a new sled

Have heard that 500SS motor is tried and true. Was told that SS meant Super Sized, as the motor is actually a 600cc.

Worst crash

My friends and I were heading to a field to play ride. The only way to get there was down a corridor between to pastures with four strands of brand new barbed wire on both sides. One friend was leading the way quickly, so I decided to catch up! As soon as I hit the gas my right ski was rocked upward...

trails open yet??

Where are you trying to get to Must? Head south to the railroad bed (C4), then east to Central Square, and get on C5 headed North to Happy Valley, and anywhere else you want to go! My neck of the woods is real smoooooooooooth!

Bar Riser-How High Can I Go?

I heard that 2" was as high as you could go before you'd need to get longer cables, so that's what I went with on my '01 MXZ, and that stretched the cables to the limit. I also had to cut some of the plastic surrounding the bars that comes from the brake and throttle levers to get the handguard moun...
