engine problems ( bogging)

sounds more like you have a air restriction problem. Check your air intake and muffler for rodent nest or stored up food.

1980 Motoski Mirage ll -

with the belt off you can't open the secondary clutch?? Sounds like you need to lube the shaft probably seized? I would (on my machine) try to open the clutch with a prybar wrapped with a cloth or something to protect the surface. Don't pry to hard though. Pry next to the shaft not up high. Might do...

I just pulled them off and took them to the dealer and he bench tested them. They did this for free.

1980 Motoski Mirage ll -

Hey not to be pickey but the 1980 shop manual says to set points at .014" +\- .002 If the timing is too early decrease gap toward .012" if too late set toward .016" Direct measurement B.T.D.C. is .081" +\- .010 if using the dial indicator. Let me know if you need any specs.

Stupid Citation question

Make life easy and disconnect your wire harness at the engine next to the recoil and if you have spark then your problem is not the coils/points/condensers/spark plugs. If you have spark, reconnect the harness and try disconnecting the harness by the firewall above the belt gaurd and check for spark...

4500 Citation electrical problems

I am not sure yet on how fast the LS's go. They are faster than I expected for a 250 motor. I found the LS's to be tippy in deep snow. I love the ride of my 3500 and 4500 better. My guess is 60-65mph for the LS's. Take Care

Going through spark plugs like crazy

I found that by replacing the points and condenser and cleaning up all the rust on the flywheel and coils and re-setting the air gap I got a hotter spark and they didn't foul out anymore. Sounds like the spark is weak and cant burn off the fuel. The new plugs get dirty after short use and weak spark...

4500 Citation electrical problems

Well, I got the problem solved and I have lights now. I am also getting new points and condensers put in. Mag side points were burnt. The electrical problem was from previous owner that messed with the wires and things were hooked up wrong. I bought a 1980 ski doo manual and traced all the wires. Al...
