not starting...

Sounds to me like you got too much fuel in the engine before it fired. Air out the cylinders and put in some fresh plugs. Give it another try then.

TX 340 engine problem

Hi guys. I just picked up another Polaris TX 340 today from a guy. I cleaned the carbs, fuel pump, gas tank, and did the works. When I started it the sled ran fine for a couple minutes. After that it started backfiring out of the carb on the clutch side. I killed the motor and started to check it out....

Moss Jersey got dissed

We will see Uller. Both the Pack and Vikes seasons look tough on paper. If the Vikes get all their new players on the same page then they may have a chance.

Summer-izing

I fog the engine, drain the carbs, stabilize the fuel, get the track off the ground, and put it in the garage. If you have to store your sleds outside try to find a building or lean-to of some sort. A regular cover builds up condensation in the engine and collects moisture and can wreck an engine and ot...

Chain Case Cover

Try some penetrating oil around the seal or try heating it with a butane torch to loosen the seal. I have seen the gaskets harden and turn into rock and are a big pain in the you know what to get off. Try heating it and the oil. After that try the mallet and see how it goes. Hope this helps.

Moss Jersey got dissed

MM700 has a good point. Neither the Pack or the Vikes look great. Offenses look great but the defences look horrible. The Bears and Lions are on the rise and are young. The Pack is getting old and the Vikes have ego problems. I still think that the Vikes and the Pack will take the divison and wild c...

Moss Jersey got dissed

Mike Tice could use some Super Bowl tickets... to figure out how to get a team to the Super Bowl. Been a long time since those purple people eaters have been to the big show.
Uller you are RIGHT! the bears may beat the Pack once this year if knowone for the Pack shows up.

Moss Jersey got dissed

The Vikings have made a few key moves this season as much as it hurts me to say but they still are going to be just as bad if not worse. All these free agents are either burned-out old timers who are slow or cost a lot of money and the other half are cocky mouth flappers who talk a big game but can'...

Elan Carb catches on fire...

As long as you have a good fire throw a few burgers on and drink a case of beer. Once your done put the fire out with water. Don't waste good beer when water is free.

I have to say I have. I friend and I were working on an 1975 Polaris TX. We cleaned the carbs, and did the works. Pull it over to start it and boom it was on fire in the garage. My friend literally ripped the half-full gas tank off and I put the fire out with a water hose. Burnt up the wiring and hoo...
