I fixed the pipe today and still the same old. I am begining to think its getting to much fuel.

I think my 80 eltigre 6000 500cc l/c is getting to much gas. how can i fix this. It has twin 38mm mikuni round slide carbs on it that have just been rebuilt. with a brand new fuel pump.

it is a l/c motor. and it does not do it as soon as i put the hood on but within about 2 mins. after putting it on it starts to bog. When i remove the hood you can hear the rpms come up. It doesn't look like anything is out of place. I dont know what is up with this thing.

The cdi box did not fix it so i need some moe help. What should i try or look for next. I am starting to get real tired of this stupid sled.

dont just replace the piston without fixing the reason why it melted down, Mine just had a melt down also so i did a complete rebuild. It was probably caused by an air leak (crank seals) but could also be your timing. If you melted a piston it would be a good idea to replace crank seals and don't fo...

I bet you won't be able to set it that close anyhow. Split the differance if you can.

Just wondering if anyone has a owners manual for a 1980 el tigre 6000 with a 500cc l/c suzuki spirt engine. Everyone tells me i have a cdi problem so i want to check it. But dont know how or what resistance it should have.

I am going to try a new cdi box tommorrow. I will let you all know if that was the problem. Thanks again for all of your help

I tried the cdi in the oven thing. It did not hurt anything but it did not help either. After about 10 mins. it went from running great to running like sh@#. Man when this thing boggs it will not produce any power at all. You can walk faster than it will go.
