Re: New Carb Rule.

Darcy the carbs I tested have the 36 mm slides and are cast at 35.5 mm from the spigot right up to within 1/8" from the slide. Back to back dyno testing showed .5-1 more than the standard size slide carbs that are cast 35.2 mm to 1/4" from the slide and 1.5-2 hp more than a standard smooth...

Re: New Carb Rule.

The rule has always been 34.1 mm maximum bore. The unfair but legal point is that some "stock" VM34 carbs flow more than others and that gives an advantage. If you were to do the homework as Mr Pipe did you would see that some VM34 carbs were manufactured with VM36 slides and measure 35.5 ...

Re: Boost Bottle/Shared Air

Boost bottles definitely affect a motors performance but only marginally at full throttle. I think they were dropped by the manufacturers in an attempt to cut down on warranty costs. An identical engine with versus without a boost bottle will require about 10 jet sizes bigger to stay together. Airfl...

Re: New Carb Rule.

As a tech man I see a lot of stuff and I am supposed to enforce the rules without bias and keep what I see to myself. What I would like to see is the carb rule state that the bore size must not exceed 34.1 mm anywhere. There are a lot of different VM34 carb variations including some magnesium castin...

Re: Semi Pro Champ or Pro Lite at Eagle River

The success of this class depends almost entirely on having a decent purse. If the money dries up like it did in Outlaw then it is destined for failure. The purse will ,unfortunately, attract the "cherry pickers" who will set up residence in this class and have no intention of competing at...

Re: Growing the Champ class

Tony I said non toxic PROPYLENE GLYCOL not the toxic ETHYLENE GLYCOL. Propylene glycol is the old style RV antifreeze, The new RV stuff uses Ethanol as the antifreeze and doesnt lubricate. Both are non toxic.

Re: Growing the Champ class

John I agree 100% on banning titanium studs. It gives a very slight advantage at a huge cost. Carbon backers are not that big a deal. I had a bunch water jet from carbon plate bought in a sheet. The net cost was around $2.50 per plate. Dragonplate sells 1/8" plate at a reasonable cost and you c...

Re: Growing the Champ class

Please don't screw with the rules or make more classes! The reality is that champ is and always will be an expensive class to compete in and to compete at the top level it takes lots of money talent equipment and luck.. To encourage more participation in this class there needs to be more money as a ...

Re: Valcourt Official Results

I would like to clear the air about the fuel testing procedures and results in Valcourt. In order to ensure compliance with ISR rules pertaining to fuel it was agreed that pre race and post race samples would be collected. Pre race samples were to be collected and once tested were given the "ok...
