Re: V-FORCE/Moto Tassinari Pro-lite series

John I like all the ideas about the new semi pro or new lite class but it should allow engine mods or there will be too big a spread between semi pro and pro. As it stands the teams that want to win pro will spend what it takes to run at the front, including spending tens of thousands on engines, ch...

Re: V-FORCE/Moto Tassinari Pro-lite series

John back when champ lite was alive the stock engines with good pipes were around 105-110 hp and the good champ engines were in the 110-120 hp range. A good champ lite sled could keep up and compete with the majority of the champ sleds. Well the stock motor sleds without boost bottles will be in the...

Re: V-FORCE/Moto Tassinari Pro-lite series

Would be hard to install V force reeds on a 1998 Ski Doo engine!

Re: Latest Rumor coming out of Roseau

If you look at the numbers on the Snowgoer forums it is obvious that the interest in ovals is soo much greater than any other form of racing. (well at least on this site!) So it is about time the OEMs wake up and start building an oval race sled that can be purchased and raced in champ. I wonder how...

Re: V-FORCE/Moto Tassinari Pro-lite series

First I would like to thank you for your efforts securing $15K for this series. I wish it was so easy for the rest of us to get this kind of sponsorship. Other than allowing custom head inserts it sounds a lot like Champ Lite. My questions are? 1) How will the payout be made? Will it be a weekly pay...

Re: New sand cast Champ cylinders

95% is a bit of a stretch of the rules John. The spirit of the rule intent is that you start with a qualified cylinder. To pass tech it must still be recognizable as a qualified cylinder. I would not accept in tech a cylinder that is essentially off another non qualified engine or is not recognizabl...

Re: New sand cast Champ cylinders

So what you want is a rule change that allows someone to cast their own cylinders based on any design they choose? I like it but I cant see it being cheaper or slowing them down any. Less work for sure! With such a small market for them the tool cost spread over a small number of castings would make...

Re: The future of Champ

If you had the choice of 50 lb. of body weight or 50 lb. of ballast which one do you think would you choose? Most drivers are in very good shape with a low BMI so most of the extra weight is usually muscle. Adding 50 lb. of ballast to Sabrina or Jordan or the newest young upcoming driver, Steve Marq...

Re: The future of Champ

If we have a combined weight rule it will hurt the light drivers most. Perhaps a compromise would be a sled minimum weight of 375 lb.along with a combined minimum of 550lb. That way a featherlight driver like Jordan Sabrina Jacques etc wouldn't enjoy a big acceleration advantage yet wouldn't have to...
