Fuel leaking while trailering-vent

I've been experiencing a problem when I have my fuel tank filled up(to just below the filler neck)on my XC and trailer to my ride spot, there is fuel that has evidently leaked out from the vent tube. I've noticed the tube only comes up a short distance below the handlebar clamp-can I run a longer ve...

'03 YAMI 4-STROKE!

I was at the local Yamaha dealer today, who had photos from a dealer preview and the sled looks nice! Guy said it sounds just like an R1 bike, and cold-weather starting from -40 isn't a problem. Assecibility to the engine is to be much better than the Viper. Price is in the low $8ks. I asked about a...

2001 xc 500 sp

Where exactly was the smoke coming from? Leaking out from a connection? As for the bog, these twins are somewhat cold-blooded until warmed up.

'03 YAMI 4-STROKE!

What do you fellow sledders think of the new sled from Yamaha? I personally think it will be a good seller. Looks nice, and with the claimed ponies under the hood, it should move well. Curious to see what they have as for starting it in winter temps-not crazy about plugging in another block heater. ...

Polaris XCSP spark plugs

Has anyone used NGK BPR9ES or Champion RN57YC plugs in their XC500SP sleds? I read that these are suitable replacements other than the orig. Champion plugs or the NGK BPR9EVX platinum tipped plugs. Is it really worth the extra $$ for the platinum?

6XCSP Idle

I have a '01 500sp and it has sort of a hesitation at idle. Spoke to a dealer today and they recommend checking the fuel screw adjustment, and they also said that these sleds should idle higher-they said they set them up around 2500-3000rpm and they run fine, no hesitation. I'd say to verify the fue...

burpin my xc sp

As I mentioned earlier, I contacted Polaris via their "800" number and hadn't received a response, so I called again to voice my concern, found out the customer service person is in New Jersey and they will fax the info to Minnesota (No e-mail?) I'll post the outcome.

Scratcher for polaris

Are you having excessive hyfax wear? On my '01 500, I installed an extra set of idler wheels right in front of the rear track wheels(did it this spring-yet to ride to see if it helps) I can't remember where but I've seen the scratchers advertised, maybe JR Graham or Shade Tree? *This Message was edi...

VES question

Where do you get these pop-up caps that you refer to to see if the valves are operating correctly? And they can be left in place during normal operation? Thanks
