2003 Polaris 700 XCSP (fuel and oil filters)

I believe the only oil filter is actually a screen on the oil sending unit, which is installed in the bottom of the oil tank-would need to remove it from the tank and clean it.

The fuel filter should be an in-line filter-usually a white plastic filter which can be purchased at the dealer.

Sled Moving Cart For Sale

Sold the moving cart last year, but if your in the market for a nice set-up, check out the one at this site: http://www.ezproproducts.com/sledscoot.htm

I bought this to replace the one I had-works much better in my opinion and can order optional pneumatic tires if needed.

Grease lower steering post pivot???

Yep, remove the carbs and you'll see it-will need a special right angle grease gun tip to do the job-it looks similar to a normal grease gun tip, but has a slot on one side that you slide onto the fitting. I bought mine at an auto parts store(Automotive Supply), worked good. May want to check at Fle...

Green Bay Snow Show

If I recall correctly, there were two Amsoil dealers, one from New London, WI and another I believe from New Hampshire. Not sure what the answer is for getting more vendors and deals at the snow shows, but would imagine the vendor spaces aren't cheap and some just don't want to set up a space and no...

Green Bay Snow Show

Went to the show Friday night and what a waste of time!

Seems like each year it gets worse-less vendors, and the deals aren't any btter than the local dealers.

I won't be going next year.

Best oil for polaris with VES

I switched from Polaris VES oil to the Amsoil Interceptor last season-night and day difference-valves were still fairly clean with over 1,000 miles on them when I pulled them to check and clean them. Our local Fleet Farm sells the oil for $24.95/gallon and I've bought some for less than that. You co...

'01 Polaris xcsp oil-sending unit leak

Just to update(how to): Last night I removed the seat, console and fuel tank to get good access to the oil sending unit at the bottom of the oil tank. Drained all of the oil from the oil tank with a baster (and rubber hose to reach back by th sending unit). After disconnecting the wire connections an...

'01 Polaris xcsp oil-sending unit leak

Swenny,

Is the sealant applied on the inside of the oil tank, or just on the outside? If on the inside, is the sealant designed to be submerged in oil?

This repair sounds better than trying to remove the airbox/oil tank!

'01 Polaris xcsp oil-sending unit leak

Checked Polaris' site-no recall listed for the oil leak. After cleaning up the area under the oil tank real well, placed a white napkin under the the sending unit and fired up the sled, ran it for several minutes and checked-no oil leaked out. Could it be that while in storage, with the summer heat,...
