Re: New Champ option ?

I agree with pretty much everything you said, now if we could just get a lot of others to open their eyes and minds to make the needed changes to save our sport! Problems: #1 - too expensive #2 - sleds too fast and too aggressive handling to be safe or drivable by more than a handful of racers. #3 -...

Re: It's Almost November...

It sounds like the Soucy 106" tracks are running late and won't be ready until mid November, if anyone has any new ones they would sell call my shop 603-863-0049.

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

TJ, You still have never answered the question of: "Why would new racers want to see rules that force them to spend a lot more money than is needed to have FUN in ice oval racing??" Is it just to line the pockets of certain chassis builders or parts suppliers??? You talk about the cost bei...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

TJ, I was not being personal, just stating facts! Nobody is better at stretching things than you. I certainly was not stretching anything, I sell complete sets of clutches to racers and they do cost OVER $2,000. Try ordering a new set of fox shocks valved by an expert and you will pay OVER $700 a pa...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

TJ, Lets get back to reality! The sled you are proposing is based on a Polaris sled that has a similar salvage price as the F-500. How can you add a $1,200 rear skid, $1,000 front end, $700 set of shocks, $1,000 - $2,000 clutches and end up with a sled that costs the same??? Lets get real!! Your sta...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

We really should take a closer look at the new Arctic 200, it weighs less than 200 lbs., has snowmobile type clutches and it's only $3800 and could probably be made into a nice little 45mph junior 1 sled for kids 8 - 10 years old. Junior 2 {11-13 yrs.} could be the 340 fan sled we have been discussi...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

TJ, I hope you don't think I am a democrat just because I live near the east coast. You don't know me at all. Just because I don't like to see rules that benefit those with deep pockets just means I want to see more than 3 or 4 kids racing in the junior class, it's that simple. Even when we were dom...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

TJ, Vintage 440 supermod is a terrible comparison, It is the premier vintage class racing for the W.C., Naturally you are going to have quite a few racers robbing their piggy bank to win a W.C. {There are still 5 times as many F-500 sleds nationwide} You are dead wrong about F-500 racers not moving ...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

The Wahl rear skid is very similar to the Polaris but adds $1,200 to the cost of the sled. Why not stay with the hydraulic shocks that come standard on these sleds, they work just fine on the F-500 sleds and you can by all 3 new ones for $120 total instead of spending $600 to $1000 for a set of Fox ...

Re: Real issue is no place for kids

After checking with a few salvage yards it's obvious that the 340 twin is much easier to find, apparently they didn't make many with the 250 single. With this engine we could just use the same rules as F-500 that only allows for a complete stock engine and exhaust with just the after-muffler replace...
