Re: oval racing safety improvements

I will have to try and find the article again, but there were a group of motorcycle racers using special bags filled with recyclable trash. Things like used plastic bottles, etc. the local group putting on the race was responsible for getting the trash, and the race organization simply brought the b...

Re: oval racing safety improvements

John, I'm not saying that these improvement to the sleds wont help, and it all should be looked at. But I think most of the snowdust gets "sucked" up when a machine passes over it. Right behind the sled there is a area of low pressure, and it picks up the light dust into the air. I don't s...

Re: Is Semi-pro Champ the REAL issue?

I think seeing guys get hurt all the time in Champ would turn away quite a few of the family based teams. I doubt mom and dad are going to foot the bill if they see so many guys getting hurt all the time.

Re: Less expensive Champ option

I like it John. I still think we need to slow them down/stabilize them One question tho. I don't think the stock chain case rule will really save much money over a mod case or a belt drive. Is cost the only reasoning for this rule? Or is there something I'm missing? Also, I think you should expand t...

Re: The future of Champ

Do you think NASCAR, NHRA , etc ask their drivers what safety improvements should be made? No they have a group of safety officials that look after safety issues unbiased!!! You ask the drivers and they are all biased and not putting the safety first. What I think needs to be done is that all the c...

Re: Pro Am 600 Super Series

Not to be a debby downer, but why do you think this class is going to work now? Sprint 600 failed because it got too expensive. All this class looks like is a name change and no external engine mods. Still going to cost a bunch. Yes there are lots of old champ chassis out there, but one person buys ...

Re: 2014 Eganville Race

We do not have the tools to check some aspects of the fuel, so they were sent off for more testing. As this testing takes a longer time to do we cannot dq someone weeks later. The tests that were done all passed. If something else is found in the additional tests, it will be used as a lesson on what...

Re: 2014 Eganville Race

No one was dq'd. Fuel samples were taken to be sent off for analysis, but would only be used for future tech inspection purposes. Howard is just trying to stay on top of things and keep guys honest. Greg he I up in Roberval right now, but we passed everyone through tech and everyone collected their ...
