champ motor

Intresting thoughts guys. We actually looked into this when we were working with a Yamaha V-Max 4 drag sled. I big problem is the speed. you just can't uase any reduction system. Chain drives (even when submersed in an oil bath) will not hold up at these speeds (chain speed is too high and the pins ...

SPORTMAN 600 QUESTIONS

snopro 31 I race in the class in the USSA. Dan's sled is very competitive and would be a good buy for a starter sled. I have also ridden a sportsman sled that he has prepared and they are easy to drive. Learning the set-up is so important and you can spin your wheels a long time doing it the first t...

Tail Light Rule

Hello, I thought I would share my thoughts on this subject. I have run my tail light on a battery for the last 2 years. It is just a regular 1157 light bulb. I never blow tail lights, or have any problems. The only issue is that you need to rember to turn it on and off at the end of the race, or a r...

What's going on at the ISR

Sorry for the late reply on this topic, but in need to say my piece. I am in agrement with most of you that voting on rules 2 weeks before the first race is insane, yet these type of changes continue to happen. Last year there was an ISR "clarification" ruguarding sprint 500 engine displacemnt that ...

Champ Weight

Mr Hooper, I competely agree with your opinion on this matter. Acceleration rate is effected at the start of the race, and twice per lap exiting out of each corner. I have actually measured acceraration rates on a srint sled with 2 different riders of close to the same caliber, but a large differenc...

Fire On Ice Race

Dan,

Great job! This is the direction I personally would like to see the promoters going in. Racing under the lights seams to make it more of a show. The extra practice on Friday helps everyone get mor track time.

who is going?????

John, Some of my firends went to haydays for the first time last year. They figured out that you could buy stuff and re sell it for a profit if you knew what you were looking for and what the hot sellers are. They made a bunch of cash last year, so to promote sales they are activly looking for local...
