assuming they make the stock classes 600 this year, and by the looks of it, they will, could you take a 440, say edge chassis, and place a 600 motor in it and race in the class???? also was wondering about the guidelines where the motor had to match the chassis rule, and is it still enforced? i know that the forms for tech in eagle river were kind of non-specific egarding this. just possibly trying to save a buck this next year and dont want to dump boatloads on new 600rr or rev xp for class.

Personally we feel why get rid of the 500 class?????? With Sno X going to 600 there will be more than enough 440 race sleds around now and i am sure at a great price since they will be obsolete in Sno X. Why not give them a home on the Ice, as we all have seen they have no problem keeping up with/beating the 600's. It would be like ok lets dump the Champ class now to because 440's are not made anymore. THATS WOULD BE JUST WELL STUPID. Just because they are not making a 440 anymore does not mean there will not be parts still for them, if i am not mistaken I think the law says they have to continue to provide parts for 5 or 7 years after the last date of production.

nick.glad to see pro-ice is thinking this way the 500 class is avery good class and will get bigger this year .440 sno x sleds selling for around 3000 to 3500 put the oval parts on you got 5000 to 6000 alot less money they a front running champ or pro sprint.it somes like ussa is dropping the ps.500 class and only having the 600 class dont realiy feelits fair to have run the 440 against the 600 s.thanks pat duchene

Pat,

We will be keeping both in Sprint and well also in Stock. In our circuit the 500 class is alot bigger than the 600 in sprint. I thought they would drop in price the 440's and thats awesome to see. 5K-6K to have a safe and fast race sled is good to see but you need a place to race them and keeping the 500 & 600 classes both gives them those spots in Stock.

to p.j. pat and everyone!!
matt here! was wondering how all this is going to pan out with all the stock classes being re-clssified if in fact this happens and what are some of the other circuits doing? for example what are the guys out east doing in regards to the changes? what is eagle river to do about the 440S ? are they still going to offer the semi-pro and pro 440 classes up there or strictly the 600's. i know i might be jumping the gun until the meeting but just want to get perspective on what other circuits are doing and what i am going to do this next year! by the way when is this meeting, i wanna start putting some ideas in place for next season! kind anxious, just got six inches today and startin to feel the itch!! lol, matt!!!!

matt.i think its just a ussa deal dont reaily know why they want to drop it.i dont think afinal dicsion has been made yet.ussa has always given a oneyear notice before dropping a class they did not do this with this class so i dont think they can drop without proper notice.i still believe e.r.will be pretty much the same and it sounds like pro-iceis going to remian the same.thanks pat duchene

Nothing is final on the 500 Stock deal, we need to find out what we are required to run in the new 600 stuff before a final decision is made. I expect that some form of 500 stock class will be available, perhaps even two places to run it.

My understanding of the new 6.8:1 stock class is that the unit must be complete as produced, no engine swaps, etc. If you want to race one stock ,you would need to start from a production 600 sled and do the suspension changes that are presently allowed in stock class. Blending a old chassis and a new motor won't cut it.

I expect we will all learn more after the manufacturers presentation at the ISR session.

Required to run?????? By who????? is that not why we go to the ISR meetings to see what we as circuits want to run and than vote on it. Well here is a early vote from Minnesota and Xtreme Ice LEAVE IT ALONE LET EM RACE
