I would not recommend buying a used 106 kimpex. heck i wouldn't recommend buying a brand new one. Although i have never had one, i have heard they have durability issues. 116 camoplast is the way to go.

ice racer 69 if you do not know what you are talking about then maby you should keep your mouth shut. 106 tracks are as good as any track out there.there is not problems with the track. almost all champ teams are useing them so they must be good

Ice Racer69. The Kimpex 106 X 15 track is every bit as durable as the 116 x 13.5 Camoplast. Champ sleds put a lot of stress on a track so it is advisable to replace the track every year weather it be a Kimpex or a Camoplast. Most of the top teams put on a new track every year just to be sure. A used 106 track that has not derailed or had an impact that caused structural damage would be fine for vintage racing or any of the lower HP champ style sleds. Be sure to closely inspect any used track for pulled through tee nuts, damaged rods, broken or worn out clips or frayed belting.
My advice is to go new!

OH booo F***ing hooo, come on. Am i not entitled to state my on opinion? wasn't bashing anyone, merely stating what i have heard from numerous very reputable sources (aka guys that i have raced against for years). Yes they use them because they are the lightest. I would to if i could afford $1000 every couple of weekends. The less rotating mass the better. But the rubber compound is a soft one and most of the outside lugs are gone after one weekend. Ok, maybe they would be fine to use, barring any structural damage like you said howard, but are they legal?? According to the tech guys at eagle river: no.

I have only been around this for 20 years, but you're right i don't know what i'm talking about...lol at least i have the balls to post a name to my profile.

Just to clear a point: Kimpex 106x15 track with all the clip on it is heavyer than the camoplast 116x13.5. Camoplast is a long lasting track ( have been running one with around 400 good Woodys studs on it for over 2 winters, that's quite many lap ) so don't even worry about the quality of the camoplast track, they don't loose tension and they don't break on normal use.
Not so shure about the other one cause i've seen bad stuff before and heard bad things about it, i know some Pro teams that change those track couple times a year.

Still i'd suggest you change track every year.

if you need some, call me or email me. Good price for new.

That's it, Just my 2 cents.

I have a new 106x14 Kimpex track, this is just a 106x15 with 1 inch cut off the left side. This track was made about 5 years ago but never studded or used. We ran this style on our Champs with no problems. $400 if anyone is interested.
