AMSOIL World Championship Spec Fuel

AMSOIL World Championship Spec Fuel

Postby snomachiner » July 28th, 2015, 3:55 pm

The AMSOIL world championship derby will be implementing a spec fuel for this years world championship race. There are three fuels being considered at this time. TRACK TEK TT114, SUNOCO MAXIMAL 116, and VP 114 PLUS. We will notify all race teams by email and on this forum as soon as our decision is made. The fuel will be mixed by our staff with AMSOIL two stroke racing oil at a 25:1 ratio. The distribution method to the teams will be covered at the mandatory drivers meeting Wednesday night before the derby.

Finally a step in the right direction in my opinion. Lets hope that TLR decides to move forward with getting a series sponsor in the near future. Trying to equal the playing field a little sure can't hurt.

A spec fuel with a spec oil mixed by the tech inspector is the only way to ensure that the playing field is level. All the post race fuel samples must match the test sample. No excuses, no appeals no games, no problems.

Now if Amsoil will sponsor the series and get one of the Fuels to sponsors the series and make both a Spec then that is a step in the right direction...All major racing bodies has spec fuel and gets a good sum of money for them to spec it...This is how you grow a series, Tommy won't do this for ever...

I agree TJ. I 'm sure the promoters of these events would welcome a financial shot in the arm to help off set there costs.

Im all for spec fuel and oil. BUT

Lets make sure the fuel is chosen on its "Quality" and past record.

I dont think the oil will matter but I do have concerns about the fuel.

Many times I have heard " I must have got bad fuel"???

I'm not exactly sure how many years MPH has been racing?

We use VP 14+ and I can say....

We have never and i mean NEVER had bad fuel from VP in all the years we have raced. The other mentioned fuel I cant say that about. But I have hear "I must have got bad fuel"!

A lot of effort and money is put into these motors.

Lets be careful its not all about price.

a spec. fuel is a great step in the right direction, I would like to see VP C14, it's exactly the same as C14 plus but has less lead so it's SAFER to HANDLE and INHALE. VP has the best reputation for consistency and most teams are already using it so testing would be minimal. If one of the other companies wants to step up with some series sponsorship that would also be great as long as we have some time to test it. John Hooper
