Limited 500 questions

Does wahl skid qualify as production rail.Are all three brand motors equal in power or is there a prefered motor in class.Why only fox shocks on chassis.

From how I've had the rule explained to me a Wahl rail is not a production rail. Any OEM rail can be used and modified, but must be recognizable as being an OEM Production rail after your finished. Best bet ask Jerry K. if you have questions. Most any motor you pick should be in the mid 90's to low 100's so competetion should be tight. I believe the Fox shock rule is designed to keep high dollar one-off shocks out of the class. It must be a "STANDARD" Fox shock. No remote reservoirs,no piggy back shocks ect.

So concerning chassis are most guys running an old champ chassis with oem chaincase and skid or older production chassis.

some of the older wahl skids did use a production rail .but i don t know what year they started useing there own rail.

How do I determine if the rail in old Wahl skid is one that was production? I bought an early model Wahl A arm sprint with 15" x 116" track that I am converting to ltd 500. It has stock chain case and what looks like stock artic cat tunnel. The rear suspension shocks were mounted out board of the tunnel. Similar to early arctic cat cougars

Lets just get rid of the Rail Rule... The rule is designed to be "less cost and less work" for the racers, but actually by making them use the OEM rail it makes for More work and More cost. It is easier for most races to find a wahl skid at a swap meet than it is for them to modify a stock one to work.
