100 MPH TEK VEST

I had a customer call up today looking for a 100mph tek vest as he called it. I am just wondering if any of you know what hes talking about. He said thats what the watercross guys are using. Is he just using "tek vest" as a general name because I called up the company and they dont have nothing that is US coast guard approved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What the IWA requires is a 100 MPH rated, USCG approved life vest. If you look at the specifications on the inside a life jacket, it will give a MPH rating of 50 or 100. You used to be able to tell by the amount of straps it had, 4 strap vests were the 100 MPH ones, but now you really have to look at the inside of the vest to be sure.
