Do I think that the RX-1 should be the snowmobile of the year? NO, am I surprised, NO, I called from late spring on that it would win. It has what the what the goverment wants to see and what the consumer wants. Goverment= low emisions Consumer= powerful 4 stroke(not that everyone wants that but if we had no choice but to ride a four stroke it would have to do what a 2 stroke does). Me personally, I think it should have really gone to Arctic Cat. The F5 and F7 are what real technology is about. Light weight smaller motors putting out more horsepower, sleds that are more versital. You can ride a F hard you can ride it soft either way I don't think it will disappoint. Rev, stand up riding, yah that will work when you putting on 250 miles a day. RX1 not what anyone really wants. Pro X(which I bought this year) another good all around sled. If it had Cats a-arm front suspension and skidoos direct injection or Cats batteryless EFI that would be my vote. I think people are getting to caught up in "new" technology and forgeting what they use there sleds for. Rev owners beware, I won't be waiting for you at every stop sign because you need a break from standing and your back is sore.

One more thing MXZ800 all the companys build good sleds. Does everyone of them offer something I would want, NO! That does not make there machines crap. The Rev is a peice of S$#T not Ski-doo and I am not going to tell you that again! Now that we've got that out of the way are you going to wake you lazy ass out of bed on Wednesday when I bring my new sled over?

he RX-1 is wa to heavy for anything but ice racing and maybe to heavy fot that to. I was riding in hatchers pass(in alaska) yesturday and i was told by a guy on the long trac not to buy one and he is selling his. also at the air port the long track was weighted at 703 LB wet. that is way to much for me.

This year is great year for us. 3 major new sleds, all introducing a variety of industry shaking ideas. Yet we bash each other? I say the honors could have been shared.

However...

I think that the RX-1 sends the loudest positive message to both snowmobilers and non-snowmobilers by offering a high performance 4 cycle option that puts out lower emissions. It appeals to both groups and that is why it won.

I think the RX-1 is just the logical next step after the Cat 4s. bigger, better, faster, but not that radically different. The rev is the only sled that dared to take what we know about snowmobiling and turn in on its azz. In my mind, it is riskier to try and totally change a riding position, than the number of cycles per bang. I also think soty should be about best for driving, not just newest tech. If polaris had still had the best sled, with only BNG, they should win, even if not new. (They don't, but if they did.) new doesn't been best.

Hey '01 MXZ 800 I bet you don't know the first thing about snowmobiling, you just get all your info from reading magazines, If you rode your sled as much as you ran your mouth you might be able to keep pace with my wildcat, at least until the first turn then all you'd see is snow dust.
