stock belt or aftermarket????

OEM! I've gotten 2000 hard miles out of the last two OEM Cat belts that came on my 800's. I replaced them just to be safe at 2000 miles. An OEM Cat belt cost me $48 at my dealer.

indy,

there are different quality OEMs. skidoo sells a Standard belt for $44.97 US, and a high performance belt for 66.97 US.

Oh, also after looking at my skidoo mag i see they sell the Gold XLD belt for 103.47. What a crock of #$it. I hope that includes the Vaseline too because that is going to hurt bad.

I was using OEM belts when I bought my sled, but, Two of them blew within two weeks. I don't know if they had a bad batch or what, but I tried the Good-Year Powerstreak belts two years ago and haven't had one problem. Matter of fact, I'm finally changing the one from two seasons ago. Approx. 2600 kms on one belt! Got one for a spare and am finally gonna use that one and get another for a spare!

indy500 - Speaking only for Pol, Fact--Dayco is the manufacture for Pol belts. This info was pulled out of a service manual at a Pol dealer. Yes, there are different levels of OEM's for the same type of sled (i.e., standard or performance). It's whats in your price range and your sled that counts. So if you buy OEM or an aftermarket belt (like an UltraMax) the same manuf made both belts. The diff would only be specs of the belt. I have two sleds, one has 3,000 miles, the other 2,600, both are the original OEM belts and are still in excellent shape. Considering how often you have to change your belt, does the price difference really matter knowing that your buying an OEM belt that was specifically made for your type of sled? Hope the info helped. Pray for Snow! OTE

stock belt or aftermarket????

the question is how much do you send? $9.99 belt will last for one good or bad hole shot! when you buy a high quailty belt, it will work. but look at the price, is there much difference in price? how far to you have to drive to get a cheaper belt? what is the ups charge? what is the shipping and handling charge? how long will it take to get it? put that all together and then look at the cost / whats better!
i laugh at the guy who dives 10 miles to save 2 cents a gallon on gas, when he only buying 10 gallons. HOW MUCH DID HE SAVE?

This fall when i was at spicers the machanics there said your better off useing an oem belt for ski-doo and polarass and he knows what hes talking about, so ill stick with oem plus when i had a dayco ultramax it didnt seem like it worked at good as my stock one, just wasnt right and as soon as i bought a new oem belt i could tell the difference
