Is Ironwood Michigan worth a trip?

Postby mnsnowboy » January 24th, 2003, 12:54 am

This is about as far as I want to go. I was wondering what trail conditions are like and how much snow is falling. Also I have heard that enforcement over there doesn't take too kindly to pipes. I have triple straight throughs, I don't try to hot rod them, I just like the sound and I am respectable in residential areas. Would I have a problem? How are the trails? Any comments are appreciated!! THANX

I think you can only have stock pipes on over there, but I have seen many sleds over there with after market pipes.

well not sure about the pipes my sled pretty loud 96 xcr 600 tripple and and i even got caught by the cops but not for pipes just a word of advice stay on the trail and stay off the railroad tracks he was really bein a dick about it but he let me off with a warning it could have benn a 500 dollar fine

i went to bergland michigan last weekend ironwood had some snow but burgland had way more and its only 30 more miles east of ironwood lot better conditions but stay off trail 13 south from bergland unless you dont want any wear rods left at the end of the day try and stay north of bergland up to silver city by lake supperior thats the best ridding the lake there is lake gogebec (not sure on spelling) 7 miles long no speed limit great fun

its worth the extra 30 miles to burgland we trailered our sleds from ashland wisconson because of no hotels avalible

MYSELF AND 5 OF MY FRIENDS WENT LAST WEEK AND THE SNOW WAS MINIMAL BUT RIDING THE SLEDS TOWARDS LAKE GOGEBEC WAS AWESOME!!! THEY HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH SNOW. WE PUT 240 MILES IN 2 DAYS AND IT WAS PRETTY GOOD RIDING. WE SAW THE GROOMER 4 TIMES SO THEY ARE OUT. IF I COULD I WOULD FOR SURE GO AGAIN THIS WEEKEND!!!! HOPE THIS HELPS YA.
