Radars must not have been calibrated... over 100mph on a 440? I doubt it.

108 on the speedo on my rev 600 H.O.

a guy here at work insists he got his bone-stock '98 thundercat going 154mph on his gps in canada.

...ummmmmmmmmmm yea.

perhaps he included the speed that the earth is rotating around the sun in that figure.

awww c'mon, im sitting RIGHT HERE! and all the guys i ride with have ridden this sled, and they know what it'll do. however, to tell you the truth, i got this sled from a dealership that raced it, but there's nothing that i know of that they did to this sled. maybe domed pistons, but not much else. its trailable, 87 octane no prob, and it runs like a champ. i only know what i see. i just figure its bone stock. however it does shave some weight off going across the lake, while i watch the gas gauge go down, down, down. i get 15 mpg at the most, and to top that, i have a 9 gallon gas tank. i aint foolin with ya either guys, however i do weigh about 140 lbs.

I can t back up any bodys speeds here, however i do know that there are folk that know how to get speed out of a machine. I put on speed runs and i am always quite suprised at the speeds that they can get out of their machines.

I have seen 440's run over 100mph in 1000' and also pass tech inspection. I have seen 440's run faster than 500s and 600s on the same day. I have also seen arctic cat f7's run over 110mph in 1000' and pass tech inspection. The 800's are getting beat by them quite often as well. I have also seen sleds run over 150mph albeit open modified, but it is possible. movie of it here
I have seen older 70s model eltigre's running over 120mph in 1000', yes they were on nitrous, but they still did it.

Yes it is hard to stomach that someone else can get a machine to go considerably faster than what you or I can get them to go. Just becouse we cant do it doesnt mean that it is impossible.

Some of the top speeds that i have seen on here are generously high, but obtainable if you have a 1 mile or longer run and are geared for it. Anything over 115mph is starting to get exagerated unless it is an improved stock 800 or bigger machine. heck, i have seen open mod 500's running over 120mph. I know that the RX'1 is supposed to have long legs, however i havent had the opportunity to see one do a long top speed run.
