How to switch Polairs 340 engine with Polaris 440 engine?

I was wondering how to switch and 1990 Polaris 340 engine with a 1991 Polaris 440 engine and if i have to use some parts from the 440 sled and exchange them with the 340 sled?

If you are looking to switch the engine, i would see if the engine mounts are the same or if the 440 will mount onto the 340 mount, if the bodies are the same you shouldn't have a problem using all of the 440 exhaust. you probably need to use all of the 440 wiring and carbs and put air filters on in place of the air box. what did you do blow up the 340 or just looking 4 more power?

The 340 and 440 fan engines are not compatable. The cranks are different. The stud centers, bore and stroke and engine mount holes are different.

Non of the parts will interchange. The 488 and 440 are based on the same parts, not the 340, that came from the old freeair block.

ok ahf maybe i was bein an a*s about the parts but don't u think that the crank, bore and stronke would b all common sense?
