Your best bet is to follow procedures in a Doo shop manual. If you don't have one, here's the general concept:
Set your handlebars straight and check them regularly to make sure they don't move during this process. Place a long straight board tight along the edge of the track that sticks out front past the skis, and measure from the board as a reference point. Take all measurements with a bunjee cord connecting the ski tips to hold in any slack. Compare measurements (with a tape measure) at the front of each ski to the board, and from the back of each ski to the board. From there, you just loosen jam nuts and turn the steering tie rods in or out until you get to the alignment specs for your sled. If you don't know the specs, you can generally shoot for straight and parallel with the track and be fine with that. Some sleds call for 1/8 inch toe in, or toe out...but you're pretty much just shooting for straight in line with the track and parallel.
To really get anal and do it perfect, put 200 pounds of sandbags on the drivers seat to simulate the suspension sit-in of a driver.
Body Armor SAVES LIVES!!!
COURTESY on the trails is CONTAGIOUS!!! Slow down EARLY for oncoming sleds!!!
ONLY pass from behind when signaled to do so!!!
THEN.....and only then...RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!
