800 power tech no top end

got a 2005 800 powertech rev put a new dynoport pipe and can on. can't get to 8200 rpms. levels at 7200. is it the pipe or clutching problem.did no jetting after pipe and can.

could you get to 8200 before? if you put the new pipes on, you'll probably have to check you jetting and do some clutch work as the pipe is gonna change the way your engine runs

RIDEIT , When you purchased the pipe didn't it come with carb. and clutch setups. You might want to contact the pipe company that stuff usually comes with. SPEEDFREAK

If it got to 8200 before, then you will need to re-jet your motor to get back to the way it was.

But 8200 is pretty fast and the limit for most motors. I wouldn't reccommend going over 8k with any stock motor, it just puts unnecessay strain and wear on the engine. My friend's 940 sea-doo tops out at only 6400, but that's a whole different story.

I have an 05 stock 800 powertech and i can get my top end...get rid of the junk pipes....unless you plan on piping, jetting, and other stuff, there is no advantage to the pipe...actually a disadvantage that you are experiencing right now...Doo has one of the most highly tuned exhausts for it's stock engine form....Every dynoport pipe and can that i have seen put on a stock doo has performed terribly....

thanks thats why i took them off.but still no top end from 0 to 90 great from 50 to 90 better but thats about it. my buddy's 2003 rev pulls and pulls and pulls wright up to 8000 and feels like it's still pulling at 110 can't figure it out. maybe clutch it makes a winning noise when i release the throttle like it one steady down shift. slows down quick no coasting?

check to see if your TRAs on the primary are all set on the same number, the higher the number-the higher the RPM......
