You young internet racers are a hoot. My viper did this and that and the other thing too. It just rides like shiz and really nose heavy. Get a clue younguns. Theres more to a sled than how fast you think it is !!

Thanks for the compliment. I'm 42 years old and just might have owned more sleds than you are old. Hey, Polaris finally has a decent sled this year in the Fusion 600HO. You have to admit, they have been asleep at the wheel for awhile. Every mfg., including Yamaha, has done this after being in the #1 sales spot for some time. They rest on their accomplishments and the competion goes on by. I started riding Yamahas when they were number one around 1982.(had Doo before that) I rode out the bad years when they had the dreaded Exciters and Polaris slipped on by with the introduction of the Indy 500. My point is, I am not a novice, used to race a bit and know how to dial a Yamaha in. Read my above posts. The Viper got slated as a so/so runner because of a few things that worked against it like the track and poor shocks. Also because they made so many of the 2002 models I believe for a rare instance their quality slipped a bit. Some Vipers overheated, some had wiring harnesses wear through, and some had lower compression numbers which contributed to lower performance. Fortunately I had none of these problems. I am not an internet racer, I've been there on done it. If you are still in doubt, go back a few years and look at the grass drag results in TRAIL STOCK. This class is closest to real world sleds. No sponsered professional drivers. No one off sleds hand delivered from the manufacturers, no tweaking head compressions and timing curves....just box stock clutched, jetted and studded sleds with average joe drivers. Yamaha Vipers did well in these type races.

UP Ski-Doo, I didn't, the guy who started the post did. I think the Viper gets put in there naturally because of the 120HP thing. First off after owning this Viper since it's first year I beleive the forced air induction is not a myth. Sure maybe it dynos at 120HP, but I believe it's making more HP during a 70-90mph run with cold air hitting it. Plus it is a 700 triple and I have proven over and over again, it just out legs the twins on a long run on a lake.

Well if any of guys read snow week mag, you would see the results. Fusion 1st. ski doo 2nd, cat 3rd, and yamaha nytro 4th.
All you brand lovers who will likely argue about this- LOOK at the old forge results. It's right there in black and white.
I am not putting any one sled down, they all have good AND bad quirks.

I'd like to ride and run one of the new Fusion 600's. I sat on one at my local dealer. They are comfortable for sure. I also have seen some issues over on other sites like poor top end, the pipe is developed wrong, but Polaris discovered it too late, clutching/gearing out in left field....etc. I do have a friend that bought one(diehard Polaris guy). He was supposed to stop over and we were going to run 'em off. I think he is getting his ducks lined up first being I have beaten up good on him over the years.
BTW fusion rider, how did Yamaha do in the big class?? You know that APEX actually is sanctioned to run in the 600 class by the 1.75 ratio rule. That is why Polaris and Doo boycotted cross country. Actually the 120HP Vector runs in the 500 class. I can see the rules changing already.

The big bore class was the best of the day. Polaris 900, Mach Z, Apex, and ZR 900 were all with in 2 tenths of a second in 1000'.
Believe it or not the mighty mach z was last in 1000'.
The zr900 was first, but remember it also is 28 pounds lighter then it's brothers.(actdrive)
*Note* After 1000' No "stock" sled could touch the Mach.
And yes I do not care for ski doo's but facts are facts.
