But what they woundn't be able to tell would be improved porting, compression, gearing etc. The ought-two's have a better rear suspension designed after polaris'. That's why you can see the push button reverse on the touring polaris'.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Polaris is borrowing the RER patend from Ski-Doo! YES?

is polaris getting free use of RER because of their patent infringment of polaris' rear suspension coupling blocks? YES!

Correct me if I am wrong. Polaris had purchased rights to use the reverse from a company and had a new long term contract. Then Bombardier bought that company out so Polaris has made a deal with bombardier to keep that contract and ski doo got to redesign their suspension similar to polaris'.

That's right, they are sharing info on direct injection two-strokes as well.

Ski-Doo copied Polaris' two-way coupling and Polaris took them to court. Here is an excerpt from the season ending Supertrax. "While neither Polaris or Ski-Doo will flinch when asked, it seems plausible Ski-Doo may have settled a Polaris leagal action against them over their use of two way coupling on the SC-10 II skid with a sharing agreement on RER."

This was settled out of court by Ski-Doo so that they would not lose massive amounts of money when the court settled against them.

Rumor has that ski-doo was not happy with their 800 last year especially when the 01 700 was almost the same as the 800 except flat out for 2 miles on a lake and there was not really that much of a difference. I spoke with Goodwin Performance who works very close with ski-doo, said the 02's will have a new rolled chain case which will be placed at a different angle. They also said from testing in yellowstone that from doing this change it produced a 3-5 MPH's continuously after every run. They also said the 800 is getting a new pipe, which probably means it should receive some different porting and maybe an increase in compression. If you call goodwin performance and speak with the owner, he can probably give you the specifics or maybe more detail.

Any way's that's the scoope. I ordered a 02 MXZX - TWO TONE 800 WITH RER. I can't wait for it to come in.
