Be very careful if you geta XCR that has the 600 triple XLT motors they spit cranks out anually. Polaris hada big recall on them from 94-96. The only 700 from the year 96 was the Ultra 680 triple, my dad had one that year he sold it in summer of 2000 it had 8,000 trail miles with no troubles at all. I kinda think your looking for a twin 6 or 7 notta triple right? They came out a few model years later, and all the Domestic twins are bullet proof my families owned about 20 different ones since 98 to prove it to me. Getta twin the triple craze is over.

Yeah the XCR600SP needs clutching and head work. After that they run pretty good. I had one 3 years ago, ran it stock except for a silencer and it was a turd. '97 XCR6 SP Amsnow dyno test got 117.? if I remember correctly.

Is there any recall on the xlt600 sleds. I have a 96 that I picked up. It only has 1100 miles on it. I thought I would put another 1k miles on it this winter and dump it.

I own a 96 600 XLT that has been ridden hard on trails. It has 7900 miles on it and has not been touched for anything other than maintenance. Will be run again this season, still without major service issues of ANY kind. Also own a 96 Ultra SP. Wouldn't think of calling it a dog unless I was trying to compare it with something way out of it's league. And a 700 twin will have a tough time with it given that it has had similar preperation.
