switching oil

I plan on switching my sled over to Amsoil this year. What is the easist and best way to change from cat oil to sythetic oil. Do I need to drain the entire system and oil pump or can I suck the cat oil out add the new synthetic?

My understanding is that Amsoil is compatible with non synthetic oils as are other synthetics.
Have made the switch myself with no fuss just by adding Amsoil to my tank normally without draining the oil that was there, and no problems.

I read in a magazine article that as long as both oils are good quality you will not have any problems by just adding the amsoil to your oil tank.
