help cant get chain case to seal

it keeps leaking, a new seal ,i think its because the bottom of the case is scratched up from when the chain broke, will i have to use silicone, any tips?

where is it leaking at seal or mating surface

I really don't recommend this, but it'll work.
Get some Loctite Ultra Blue silicone and just load both sides of the cases with it. Plug 'em together and your done. Looks ugly as sin but it will work.

I use a light coating of silicone sealer on one surface- install the cover and lightly snug it down. Then let it cure overnight and tighten the rest of the way --- fill with oil. Works for me---has never leaked doing it this way.

try to remove the worst of the damaged surface with a fine wet- dry sand paper,then use the seal and either loctite blue or what i use is loctite gasket maker it will fill in up to a 10thou indent

thankd for the help, willi found a split in the chain case, so il fix that with jb weld and that should cure the problem
