If you have a Pro-X 600 sled it will feel like you are on your riding lawn mower. I believe they are right around 25 hp, not a lot (that may actually be pushing it) and weighs about 400 lbs dry. They ARE relaible, I'll give 'em that, but I have a 250R and a LT500R and performance wise there is no comparison. The old quad's will eat them alive as far a power goes. You'll have guys argue that stock for stock a 250R and a 400EX are close, maybe, but with a simple pipe it's no contest, and some porting and then look out with the R. I'm a die hard 2-stroke guy and NONE of these new "high tech" 4-stroke quads have impressed me. Sure they have their place, but as far as performance goes, the old 2-strokes are far superior. Just my thoughts though!

Kind of off topic, but I would love to see Honda put the current CR-250R motor into the 400ex chassis. THEN they'd have something....

On topic I've heard good things about the 400ex, but like the guy said you can't beat a 250R for preformance....

I have a full tilt Banshee (60hp? 350cc liquid twin 2 stroke)and a completly stock Warrior (25hp? 4 stroke air cooled single),both Yamaha's, very similar chassis. Enjoy riding them both.
Contrary to what everyone told me about the Banshee, it's really pretty good lugging along in 4th running 10-15mph. Will do this all day without loading up. But turn up the wick and get on the pipe....God help you if you aren't hanging on, tight! If I had known that ahead of time, I would not have bought the Warrior.

I think the speeds you are quoting are for machines in stock trim. What you wind up with on a full tilt machine would be quite different. No comparison to a sled, when on a quad it seems like you are going much faster.
