Decal Removal

How hard is it to remove the decals off of a sled?
I ask because I am considering buying a F7 Firecat with the USA decals, but being a Canadian, I want to remove the flag decals and put on custom decals. I really like the look of the black sled with the blue bulge on the hood. (saw this at the Winnipeg show). I also don't want to have to scrub the belly pan of oil stains like I would with the red and green sleds.

With the right tools (hot air gun) and some WD-40, it's not too bad. You do have to be very carefull though. I've done it before so it is possible.

Be really careful if you use a heatgun. I use a regular blowdryer and mine come off cleanly.

Hair dryer and took my time and the came right off. Its easy on hoods, gets harder on metal.

Buy the Canadian and have your dealer order you the new nose piece. They come without stikers most of the time. It pops off fairly easy, they removed it during the AC show in Lansing last weekend, only took a couple of minutes.

Just put it out in the sun on a 70+ day, they just peel right off clean.

I have done the hair drier thing in the cold before, it's a pain.

Maybe you could heat your garage.

All of the above will work. The hair dryer thing works well as does the heat gun. The hair dryer just takes a lot longer. There is also a product in the dennis kirk catalog (www.denniskirk.com)called sticker off that takes off any residue that you may have in case your decals don't come off cleanly.
