Raced my buddies thundercat yesterday.I had to see if i could beat him.And until about 90mph i had the thundercat beat.Then that god damn thing started to rock.At the end he beat me but not by much maybe 3or4 sled lengths.Maybe next year i will mod my sled up and get him back.But this year i am going to just cruise around and enjoy my sled.I got 1000 miles on my sled already and she didnt skip a beat.And for you all that say cats arent reliable.I got a 02 ZR 800 efi in my garage with 9000 miles on it.just gas,oil and two belts.The new drive system should make the 900 more reliable as well.It sounds like it has a turbo or something.I cant speak for all cats.But the two i have owned were very good to me.I recommend these to any one.

What year Thundercat was this? It seemed that after the '98 model they done something to it so it would not perform that well.

It's called cc's and a thousand of 'em. Triple- triple. That engine breathes better on the top where yours is good on the bottom and mid. If I bought a cat, the zr9 would be it.

The stock pipes on the 98 Tcat were the best set Cat ever made, after they changed the body style in 99 the pipes were never as good. The 98 Tcat supposedly is the only one that put out a true 172 hp. Any Tcat will have trouble with the big twins up to 95 mph or so.

Holy crap ....I agree with zert on something.....lol...I have a friend who has a 98 Thundercat, it not only smokes a zr 900(try about 10 sled lengths)...but it will whip any other newer model thundercat he has raced...the 98 is the fastest T-cat...at least that I have seen...I now own a twin, and I am here to tell you no twin will wax a big displacement triple on a long lake...period.

zert... the '98 T-cat was the "new" body style. They then used the same body on the '99 ZRT 6 and 8.
