Impressions of new F6 under these conditions...

Loud...that's the point. Under MY conditions in MY world I can smoke an F6 and bigger with a properly equipped RX1. A set-up-so-you're- comfortable RX does many things very well. There are always sleds that do certain things better..always will be. But at no time did I even have an inkling of 'gotta get me one of these'...Factor in the RX engine, and it's a no brainer. When the bumps get so bad that it is no longer fun, it was no longer fun for the F and Rev guys either that I rode with last year. But to each his own, and the F's are a fun sled, just like many others. I was surprised that my RX could outhandle (less ski lift, and more bite) the F under those conditions. Fun night.
(Breaking news, as I write!! my coworker friend got back from Tug Hill and gave me a full report 5 minutes ago. He smoked a Rev600 SDI, XCR800, ProX, with his brand new F7. The Rev guy had 3 offs, and the F7 bud was completely out of control and almost rolled twice, the XCR went 85 miles and tank was dry..gas at the Timberview was 2.95/gal.He learned to square the corners, instead of driving through them. But you should see the BLISTERS on the palm of his left hand!!!Still bleeding!! From the Fcat. I know the one I rode had hooker handles, but he must have really been hanging on! No bull. His ZR's never did that to him.
He told me to gas up in C'ville, and I said I won't have to (heading up this wkend if our snow melts out) as I get over 160 miles to a tank. All the time. At sustained high speed especially. Advantage, RX.

Oh, and he's a little mad, as his low oil light is now on after only about 130miles..they rode around 160, thus the 'dig' about my RX going that far without needing a refuel. How much oil is consumed when the light first goes on?

That would be an excellent post, if I were a CAT hater.
Gee, your RX sounds magical.

Yes, Maine, I am partial to them, and if I didn't like them, they would have been gone by now. I spent a fair amount on tracks, shocks, etc. and the wife said last winter to go back to ski doo.I knew right away they needed more traction and better spring/shock combos. I thought they would be worth it because of the engine..so far I'm on track. They respond well to every change so far. I've had sleds that you could not do much with. Unless I ride that 'gotta have it' sled, I'm sticking with these. So of course, I'm partial, but the evaluation is honest...the little digs are the trash part.:)
They aren't magical RX's..it's just a sled..still a track and skis and motor. I've got all the basics to work with. But hat is off to cat's choice of spring and shock calibration from the factory, on the rear. My RX front was better on the trails last night.
How about the oil question?

ZR, I don't hate any sled, but my favorite to bash is cat, since they come so close sometimes, but then fall flat on the quality/durability thing. Our four Machz's had all the same identical issues. With cat, you just never know. Plus it really wasn't any better/worse overall than anything else I've ridden. Has it's good points, and not so good.
Even with the shootout results..sure, it gets a 'checkered flag', but what really is 2mph? Walking by your neighbors house and saying good morning? Not much in the real world.

Dude sorry to burst your bubble. The firecat chassis is a flop.I have only heard bad things about it.And those motors are a tight fit under the hood. The aws-5 on the other hand handles sweet or should i say like its on rails.Aws-5 is arguably the best handling cat chassis ever. And think about that rx-1 speedometer as well it is supposedly 10 to 15 mph wrong. So you feel that much faster.Oh and by the way what is your top end.Eh ehm not enough to beat a zr 900 aint it hero.lol

I'll get a picture with my local wack bud flying somewhere...he loves to jump it. They fly flat and land well. Much better than the Machs we used to mow down some of the pokeys on the 'rad' sleds. Love the look on the face when a tanker passes a wannabe in the air. Seen some Tcats fly down mogulled trails last year, too.
If the Machs didn't have cracked footrests and supports, you weren't riding. Just add more rivets.
Remember, it's only like carryin an extra bag of cement..;)

Hey Optical, sorry to burst your bubble, but when I 'ride', I haven't a clue how fast I'm going...the speedo is the last thing I look at. I was just stating it was hard to see the cat one, if someone likes to look, you know, like when going throught the sheriff's radar traps they set up around here. Although I keep arguing that there is no speed limit in a big field. And yes, 128 speedo is about 116 or so on radar. I looked that time. But 30 mph is almost right on, so the miles are not that far off, cause that was your next comment about mileage being wrong. Mileage is comparable to all the doos I normally ride with. And the ZR's were a nice unit, for a cat, cept for all the quality stuff on some, of course.
Nice debate, though..sorta like perpetual motion...
