Polaris number 1?????????

Postby Wildcat700EFI » January 3rd, 2004, 10:23 am

It seems to me that Polaris snowmobiles must be pretty good machines??
I see that Cat is the most trashed brand on this board, followed by Ski-Doo and Yamaha. Why is Polaris spared the trashing? I'm trying to learn about what to look out for in buying a sled...makes, models, ect. Please bring on some Polaris trashing!

Woohoo - BNG - that's all anyone can come up with!
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

I agree with Ken, Nothing new to bash on. If a new set of decals is all they come out with, IMHO.

Yeah, exciting new graphics, and the 2001 800's need to be "burped" every 100 miles!

I ride an XCSP and this is my first year with this sled. Took my first trip with it to the UP last week and all I can say is ... it was an awesome sled to ride!

So far, no problems at all ... early yet in the season so time will tell ... so far I've been impressed!
THINK SNOW!!! :p

Polaris XLT 580\600 engine 93-96, biggest piece of sh!t ever, no engine left more people stranded on the trail then the Xtra Lame Tripple.
Second biggest piece of crap engine would have been, without a doubt, the 93-96 arctic cat 580 zr engine. I remember riding christmas week in 1993 in the U.P., everybody standing pround by their new ride at the begining of the week, by middle of the week, 80 percent of them were in a three hour line at one of the U.P. Polaris and Cat dealers trying to get their blown motors fixed before the weekend.
My vision is better then my hearing...shut up and show me something.

The engine (xlt tripple) refered to as being the biggest peice of crap ever is probably the most significant devleopment since slide rails and is hugely respopnsible for the giant growth the sport had in the mid to late 90's. Including totally dominating the Soo I-500 and oval enduro racing stock and modified.

btw those sleds had awesome BNG's too!

Oh yeah and then there is the 488cc liquid from the same era that can kick the crap out of almost any other 500 and most 600's from the other guys.

And should we even start on the current 500/600 valve liberty engines? yeah those graphics are all the Poo guys know how to do.

amazing they even know what snow is without the other manufactures around to tell them!

and just for kicks SKI-DOOs SUCK!
