I put about 15 miles on one this weekend, just to test it out. It was pretty awesome. I think it was a 01, but not sure. It didn't feel very stable in really deep snow, but on the hardpack rough bumpy curvy river, awesome. It also feels pretty stable at high speed, even when conditions aren't perfect.
I am currently riding a yamaha 4S. Who would have guessed?

I bought 2 new 2001's Polaris 800 XC. This is what i did not like, no VES valves,Pulls hard to start,Top end 108. If you can live with that it,s not a bad sled. (Later)

That's a kick a$$ sled, ask on the news forum and yo will get more honesty. You can go all day on that thing 24/7 and neither you or it will wear out. My '00 700 sticks to the trail like riding on a rail, eats the moguls, and is quite fast.
