NO BIBLE THUMPING HERE but saw the passions

Postby mach1mikeM1M » February 26th, 2004, 3:43 am

hey guys saw the new mel gibson movie THE PASSIONS OF THE CHRIST!i found it to be a great movie and i quickly got over the subtitles, and was not offended by the violence!i ended up being drawn to this movie by the fact that so many people we condemming this movie ,and they had never even saw it!saying it is antisemetic is just a lie the only jews that look bad are the leaders, the jewish people come off as loving people!the romans (aka white people)come off as butchers!as they were!in a nut shell an excellent movie!by the way i am open minded as i have still not fully accepted a higher power!my scientific mind keeps me from fully having faith!
and for people who might want to bring kids to this movie,i saw several kids 8 and up at the showing i went to!they seem to handle it well!if your kids have been raised with a full understanding of christ and crucification then i think they can handle it!if they have only little knowledge then see it first and judge yourself as only you know as a parent what your child can take!

I myself prefer the version told in Christopher Moore's book; 'Lamb, the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal'

Mach1, God gave you the brain and ability to say what you just said. You don't REALLY think you came from swamp goo, now do ya? Think about it and tell me the odds of complex things like life (which is slightly more complex than a firecat, and we know how well they are built with all of man's 'knowledge'..hehehe) coming from, well, basically, absolutely nothing..just add heat and water.
We will all find out someday..some have just found out sooner.:)
Great Job, Mad Max from Thunderdome.
And another thing...I've been adding heat, light, etc. to my neon, and it has yet shown signs of evolving into an Escalade. Looks like it's goin the other way, to tell the truth..:B

Mike it is not the organized church that you worship, Jesus Christ is the Son of God and in the movie you saw what He did for us. I think the organized church sometimes is a big stumbling block for people in their faith. Yes we are supposed to go to church but not let the church keep us away from worshiping the true and living God. I have yet to see the movie but I cannot wait until I do

I've always maintained that there are two words that should NEVER be used in the same sentence... "CHURCH" and "POLITICS"......But they seem to be present in every congregation that you encounter.... After going through a half dozen churches or so in my "past life" (when I was married) I've decided to join the unwashed masses(no pun intended) and be a heathen...I didn't need the company of 300 other men to know how to be a father, no membership card in any fellowship was needed for me to become a good sign artist.... If the cornerstone of modern Christianity is a "personal relationship with God"... Then by definition, a congregation isn't necessary for me to believe. Sermon over.

NO BIBLE THUMPING HERE but saw the passions

Postby Rev Summit » February 26th, 2004, 11:11 am

Amen, the same people who believe you have to go to church every sunday also believe that we are the only intelligent life in the universe. I find that hard to believe considering the amount of planets and stars that are out there. Whats wrong with believing that evreything around you everwhere in the universe is connected but some unknown force and why can't that be god.

NO BIBLE THUMPING HERE but saw the passions

The criticism has only come from the liberal media, being that is most of the media, that is why you hear so much of the negativity.
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

Chit, I could win this!
