More facts.

Spec........Grizzly..............Cat

Displacement..660cc.............633cc
Width.........45.3".............47.5"
Length........81.2".............81.0"
Height........47.6".............49.25"

The Grizzly has a lower seat height, and is narrower for better trail and woods manuverability. The Cat was slower in the Dirt Rider shootout. If you look at the machines, it is clear which is built better, and has better mud protection for the rider-the Grizzly. Plus M10, you mention a winch, that is not standard on the Cat, so why list it.

Yes, a winch is standard on the 650 LE. 2500lb Warn winch

Drift, where is the spec for seat hieght on the Cat?

I would prefer a wider width and longer machine, wider and longer= better stability. For your hieght, compare the ground clearance on them, that makes up most of the difference there. 2" width is easy to make up for if that is the difference between making it through a trail and not making it...chainsaw and ground clearance :B

But, a longer wheelbase means larger turning diameter, and the machine will get hung up on things easier. Why do you think a Jeep is so good for off roading vs. a crewcab longbox truck? The Grizzly would have the same ground clearance as the Cat if the Griz had 26" tires. Everyone upgrades tires anyway, stock sucks. So far the Griz still has the edge. ;) :B

Bros inlaw bought a 04 Kawi 700 Prairie $9100 canuck last week

But upgraded with goodies winch,27" mudderz,plow,2up Gun gas,fishing rod rack etc.

Which brought the price to $11,000ca OTD

Dealer also sold Cats there

NO comparaison in quality

And my Bros inlaw is a AC sled guy too but bought the Kawi

BTW why not get the most powerful 4x4 quad out there aka Bombi Quest 650:B

I know it was probably mentioned here somewhere, but is the Arctic Cat 650 on demand 4 wheel drive, does it hold back with all 4 wheels coming down hill?

My vote is for a Sportsman 600 twin(I own one of these), or 700 EFI. The six is cluched better than the carbed sevens.

A Rincon would be my second choice.

As far as the AWD system Polaris is the best out there, with Bombs visco lock second. In the snow last year the fronts would lock so fast I didnt even notice it, way faster for sure than pulling a lever to lock all four in(yam, kawi, ac)

Yes the Cat 650 will have all 4 wheels slowing you down when going down a hill.

Just because a machine is wider doesn't mean it won't turn as sharp.

Be very carful when you look at reviews from magazines for ATV's, they are paid by the companines. I think it was Dirt Wheels that did a report on the 500 class, and the guy claimed that Honda was the top, then the next weekend he was seen on his brand new Cat...

Go to snowmobile forums to learn about snowmobiles, and ATV forums to read about ATV's. The people who own these machines know best, as they do the "long term tests".

I forgot to add...

As far as the EBS...It did catch me off guard once. Learned my lesson and now use the brakes on steep ones. The real problem with pol's ebs is not the 2 wheel grab in my opinion. Its that the ebs just is to dang strong and locks up the wheels on loose stuff. If all four where grabbing you would just be in a four wheel slide with no ability to steere.

Tree, I believe Cats 4wd is like a trucks (corners driving) with the ability to lock all 4 in. I know soon as you turn the 4wd on it is using front axle too.

I rode with a 600 Polaris last night. What a piece of chit! My Grizzly with 27" Blackwater XT's was faster, and the Polaris got the best wet. JUNK! Plus it sounds like a cow with larengitis.
