My next choice Suzy is the Edge. Wifey's Escape it coming up on 100K.

Listen to Tim he knows about Fords....not so much on the Yamaha stuff...lol
MC is right about the Esacpe. My dad has one and loves it! That might be my next car as long as it is a hybrid.

I was thinking about getting an Escape also... to put in the bed of my truck for added traction thru the month of snow.
But unlike Indy, I'm only gonna get one if they make a stinky loudass diesel.

My sister has had an Escape for a couple years now and has no issues as far as I know.

That AMC Wagon is the s hit!! Those things are fokken unstopable! Has like 13" of ground clearance and a 5000 pound tow capacity.

Suze, you want a rust free 1978 4x4 Scout-II with the 304 V-8 & TH400 tranny set up. Cheaper than the edge, and better looking, and if you hit another car it won't dent so easily, cheaper to insure, cheaper to register, and it turns sharper than a lawn tractor. Perfect for city driving. Some had locking differentials and those could climb sheer cliffs.

OT, my dad had an old International Scout. Darned thing wouldn't die. Ohio's registrations aren't based on price of the vehicle, so that doesn't matter, and I need something that I can pull the snowmobile trailer with if Pea's not around. I found a good deal on a Colorado 4x4 crew cab... six seater. Gonna have to go take a look at it tomorrow at lunch. It's about 4k less than the Edge.

Indy, I'm not going to get the Escape. I spent the first four years of married life with a Mustang, and I refuse to hear Sweet Pea complain about hitting his head on the roof getting in and out. There just isn't a lot of space in those things. It'll either be the Edge or the Colorado Z71. (I can't believe I'm looking at Chebbies)

The ford edge is actually built by Mazda, if not mistaken. It is similar to a CX-9 I think, which shares a chassiz with the Mazda6 and ford fusion sedan. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

I drive a mazda6 and it feels more solid and more expensive than much larger chevy vehicles, although it does have some interior fit/finish issues, like light covers falling off, etc. at about 45,000 miles, and fuel economy is low for vehicles it's size. Edge has a different engine, which may be different, but Mazda isn't know for fuel economy.
I am currently riding a yamaha 4S. Who would have guessed?
