Blair was hurt racing in Naniamo,B.C. at a CRMC race. Early reports indicate a double compound lower leg fracture and a fractured vertebrae. Seems his bike had a stuck throttle during qualifying and he catapaulted through the finnish line banner. Bad year so far, first Tucker and now Blair hope they recover quickly.

Can he recover before the start of snocross? If he can he is truly the superman. He may never be the same again. Riley

Fractures are easy to recover from. The back will just hurt more when racing, but should be just fine
Polaris, because I don't like to work on my sled, but I do sure like to beat on them.

I just read this on the cmrc racing website.

Blair Morgan did not race today as he had a terrifying accident in Saturday's practice session. Morgan's throttle stuck wide open as he launched off the face of a tabletop, shooting him far past the landing. Morgan sustained a compound fracture of the tibia and compressed vertebrae.

June 21 at round 2 of the CMRC Canadian National motocross series in Nanaimo BC Blair Morgan crashed hard during practice when what appeared to have been a stuck throttle launched him from a tabletop jump into a finish line banner above the normal landing area and dropped him to the ground. Blair suffered a compound fracture of his right tibia and ankle as well as a compression fracture of the L4 vertebra in his lower back. I was with Blair as they transported him to the Nanaimo hospital where he received excellent care and attention. After assessing his injuries it was decided to air vac Blair to the spinal care facility in Vancouver General Hospital as an extra precaution. The air crew was kind enough to let me travel with Blair and 20 minutes later we were at the acute care facility of VGH. The orthopedic and spine staff immediately took to assessing Blair's injuries. Again I was able to stay with Blair but for a few moments. I was shown the x-rays and advised of the concerns and procedures. The spine specialist advised Blair he would likely not require back surgery and that by immobilizing his back in a brace he should recover and the back injury should heal itself. The x-rays showed that the ankle and tibia were positioned very well after the alignment and that with surgery the ankle should heal very well. Blair underwent surgery for the ankle on Saturday night. On Sunday even with the severe pain I would describe as close to 10 on a scale of 0-10 his thoughts were on racing and how well his teammates were doing was on his mind.

Blair will likely remain hospitalized for a few days before returning home to recover. On behalf of Blair, his wife Terri and the Blair Morgan Racing team I thank all who have expressed their concerns, and to the many fans that I know that are concerned and wish him well, Blair appreciates your support. For Blair and the BMRT, our objective remains the same for the 2003 mx season, to win the CMRC National championship. We will continue with the help of Yamaha Canada and our sponsors to provide all the support we can for Craig Decker who is currently in second place in the 250 class standings on board his 450F and our other racers Kyle Beaton, Steve Taylor and Marty Madsen should he catch a couple of eastern rounds after his broken foot heals. I will provide further updates on the racer category of the message board at our website www.blairmorganracingteam.com

I hope Blair makes a speedy recovery. Snocross this winter wouldn't be the same without him. (Not that snocross would be bad off without him - there's tons of talented riders out there)
