I go up on Tug hill a lot usually. This is my 5th year of riding up there. They do have some snow, but not enough to ride yet plus you have to take into consideration it still is hunting season. The Trails officialy open December 8th. New York state law states that there must be at least 3" of snow to ride. Please everyone drive safe and stay off private property, have a great winter!! : )

Glad to see you here new member F6 man....I don't usually tie up this space with other topics but you have my attention when you said
"NYS law requires 3 inches of snow" where do I find that law, seriously? No one can keep anyone off seasonal roads under any conditions and many trails are on those roads. Maybe grooming has a snowfall requirement but I'm not knowledgeable on that.

Again welcome,,,,,,I'm a 'local" that lives to rie and rides to live
we'll have to hook up. Maybe you;d like to sign up for the 2004 Second Annual Tug Hill Cruisin' all good people all good times! TS

I don't remember where i read that, I will not just throw that out without being sure. I know that seasonal roads are open all year. And u say "maybe" a law for grooming, if u are so into snowmobiling you would know from comon sense there has to be a lot more snow then 3" to ride, groomers arent gunna go out with 3". By the way where in Tug hill do you live?

To be honest with you TS, I just read it somewhere in Absolutesnowmobiling. I think I read it in the part where it talked about grooming the trails.
