Tug Hill Tips from TS March 16th Tues 9:30pm

Postby zr800newyork » December 16th, 2002, 6:00 am

The hill held up fine with all the warm and sleet (off and on rain) new snow was a blessing.
Tough to ride in especially Saturday!

High Market has 17" on the ground today...
Light snow could add an inch or two. Temp. has dropped almost 15 degrees to 16 and single digit
tonight. If you can ride Tues or Wed GO FOR IT!!
Especially if the rain in lower elevations scared you away this past weekend-cause you missed it!

Boonville about 10 miles away has half the snow you'll see if you come from the south.Unload in Constableville? It's several inches lighter also.
Why not haul up to Smith rode parking - take Crofoot Hill road. Timberview and High Market have huge parking lots. The Edge on RT 12 and River Trail Inn next door have parking. If you're going to c-ville out of habit consider a change?

Low was 25 Sunday night. Short cold spell will have everyone grooming- did hear Flat Tracks groomer driver is away- going to find out if they have only one driver????

Will the heat wave and rain hit Thurs-Fri maybe?
Bck in the 20-39's right away Sat / Sun will snow forcast as always we'll see what happens.

Great day to ride...
Tomorrow- Thurs not so sure- mid 40's and 70% chance of rain.
Friday- starts off with mid 40's and 30% chance of rain- turning into snow Friday night

Weekend looks like low 30's and snow...

I was there yesterday(Tuesday) Never seen the trails so sweet. My brother and I racked up 100 miles in no time. The did an excellent job considering the sleet and freezing rain on Sunday.

Heat wave and rain predicted? now JUST low 40's tonight and 70% chance of rain...it was 16 degree at 1am on tug Hill and only 33 degree now...not bad at all...if the rain holds off and it gets colder at night it will not be as bad as expected.
By after noon Friday the temps will drop and snow is expected- another GREAT weekend to ride.
Got my wife to hold off leaving for Indiana so I can ride Friday/Saturday...good deal

Next week staying in 20-30's...........:) :) :)

The rain was not nearly as bad as we thought it might be. Estimate loosing a couple of inches of snow leaving a godd 12 or more. There will be some wet places and some snirt is heavily traveled places/cornors. LAKE EFFECT starting after midnight 3" and 3-5" tomorrow :) :) :)
Temp. at the moment is just above 30 and will be into the high 20's thru the night...

Tug Hill Tips from TS March 16th Tues 9:30pm

Got all excited watching the weather while in Fort Wayne Indiana the last few days- 2-3 feet of snow!!!!! listen carefully I did...in the Mohawk Valley (that's 30 miles south) not on Mohawk Hill
that happens to be very close to Tug Hill...
The hill has 3-6 inches on new snow and today there was uncongested for the usual day after X-mas...lows have been into the teens and high temps
will be low 30's during the next couple days. Snow
flurries are forcast for Fri and cloudy w/ chance
of snow Sat. Groomers are out preparing for the big weekend. Those of you on your first season ride or first vacation to the "hill" remember to
not try to make your first ride your last one...
nuff said no ones wants a lecture so I'l leave it
at that...I estimate we've receive over 70" inches
year to date when I get the facts you will too. :)
I've got a buddy coming from 3 hrs north (NYS)
to do the "Hill" with me we'll be out there early
(yea that means 10am sometimes- CRUISERS)

Our Black River Valley still needs more snow- getting over to the other side through Greig is still rough... have a safe weekend!
