Lower Ontario Trail Conditions

Postby foss » February 14th, 2002, 10:35 am

Last weekend we left Baudette and rode through Nestor Falls and Souix Narrow up to Kenora, Ont. We stayed 2 nights in Kenora and rode one day 175 miles North and East of Kenora. The trails were freshly groomed and the conditions were excellent. There was not an overabundace of snow but an easy 8-10 inches of powder on the lakes. We ended up with 500 miles on last weekend and will be leaving on Friday to do it again this weekend. Lodging in Kenora is tight this weekend due to a hockey tournament but the Days Inn has always treated us very well. The room rate is $89 cdn and they give you $50 in credit to be used in there bar/resturant. Very inexpensive place to stay. The phone number is (807)468-2003

Any issues about crossing back and forth at the border we need to be concerned with?

You have to have proof of insurance for your sled. I think that is at the border.
