Elan Carb catches on fire...

Everytime I get the Elan going the carb starts on fire, had to pour a couple cans of Blatz on 'er to put out the flame last time. Wonder if I'm using too much ether?

That flame is normal, acts like a pilot light for the "big fire" under the hood of that elan. Duct tape some tin foil to the belly of your snowsuit(shiny side out), put the flipper down and giv'er shizzzz!

Roast hotdogs, marshmallows, and make 'old style' toast. Just wipe the 2 stroke soot off.

I would just let it burn itself out. Should self correct as I've found.

Just joking of course.

As long as you have a good fire throw a few burgers on and drink a case of beer. Once your done put the fire out with water. Don't waste good beer when water is free.

Too many blatzzzz can cause this condition.
See a doctor, have a few blatzz with the doc, then try again - good luck.
