DEAD MACHINE = SPARK COLOUR????

Postby truenorth777 » December 6th, 2005, 11:51 am

Hey

I am wondering what colour a spark from the plug is supposed to make.

I Have a brand new plug in there so that wouldn't be the problem.

My machine was running really good than it died and I cant seem to get it running again.

Theres lots of spark than no spark at all but when I get spark it's a (Orage colour) Is this the proper color?

Could the problem be the ignition coil? Or something else I'm not thinking of

Thanks.

No your spark should not be orange it should be a light blue or almost whit in color to what it is I really dont know but I would start simple and work your way harder

1. New Plugs
2. Check for loose/ coroded connections
3. Look into the more complicated things

as you can see I have very limited amount of knoledge of the "more complicated things"
On tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.

Orange from one or both cylinders? It should be bright blue/white. If it's just one check the wire, if that's ok, sounds like a junked coil. If both it could be the CDI or stator.

When using a spark tester engines with breaker points hadve orange spark and sleds with a CDI have purple spark.
