El-tigre cuts out!

I got my 81 eltigre running and it runs good for a while but after a bit of driving it cuts out (runs out of fuel or something?) if i feather the throttle it sometimes stays running or usually quits. If i give it a few primes it i'll fire right up and run good. This only happens when im going 3/4 to full throttle. What is the problem. It has a F/A 500cc (the 55hp one, with 190 mains and 25 pilots.

Check your fuel pump, Had a '79 F/A 500 do the same thing.

I'll try that, my uncle said it was the fuel pump too. Tommorrow i'll put another one on and see how she bucks.
